The bindings are tight with minor wear to the boards. 1894. The pages are clean with NO writing, marks or bookplates in the books. The Jungle Book is a first US edition and contains an original watercolor by the illustrator, William Henry Drake. Kipling in 1907 became the first English writer to receive the Nobel Prize. The two leather books are actually only the front facade of the slipcase, and has a removable top, which reveals an internal fixed chemise mounted within the slipcase.
